If summer tends to sneak up on you while you’re buried under emails, deadlines, and a never-ending to-do list—you’re not alone. I’ve been there. And this year, I decided I was done letting my calendar run the show.
In this season of longer days and warmer sun, I’m leaning into a mindset shift that’s changed the way I approach both my work and my life:
Busy doesn’t mean productive. Hustle isn’t the goal.
What I’m after this summer? Intentional living. Work that matters, space to breathe, and the freedom to actually enjoy the life I’ve worked so hard to build. And I want that for you too.
Here’s a peek into the simple (but powerful) strategy I’m using to flourish this season—without dropping the ball on my business.
From Busy to Intentional
This was my wake-up call: Summer isn’t about doing less. It’s about doing the right things.
So I sat down and asked myself: What’s the ONE result I want to create this summer?
Just one. Not a long list. Not fifteen goals. Just clarity. That question alone helped me filter what stays on my plate—and what needs to go.
If it’s not aligned with the season I want to live, it’s probably just noise.
My Weekly Framework for Working Smarter

I’ve started building my week around themed days. Think:
- Monday = Calls + Client Check-ins
- Tuesday = Content Creation
- Wednesday = Strategy + Planning
- Thursday = Admin or Overflow Tasks
- Friday = Half-Day or Offline Completely
It’s not about being rigid—it’s about knowing what kind of brainpower each day needs from me. I also batch content and pre-record episodes in advance, so I’m not always in “go mode.”
This way, my work still gets done without hijacking my summer.
Let Your Systems Do the Heavy Lifting
Can something be scheduled? Can I delegate it? Does this actually need me… or can it live inside an automated workflow?
From social posts to groceries—if I can streamline it, I do. It’s not about being lazy. It’s about honoring my energy and my time.
Block Time for LIFE (Not Just Work)
This one’s huge. I now time-block personal things the same way I block client calls. Beach days with my kids? They go on the calendar. Lunch with a friend? Protected.
These “life-giving” blocks of time are non-negotiable. And guess what? Nothing’s fallen apart. The truth is, your work will expand to whatever space you give it. So make room for your life, too.
My Summer Flourish List
Instead of creating a traditional “summer bucket list,” I created a Flourish List. I picked three words I want this season to be about: Connection. Adventure. Peace.
Then I asked: What small (or big) things support those themes? That’s now my north star for how I spend time, who I say yes to, and what I build into my weeks.
