When I sat down to record Part 1 of this series, I knew I didn’t want to just talk about financial freedom in the way we often hear about it—you know, the flashy success stories, the “overnight wins,” the endless hustle. I wanted to tell you the truth because Financial freedom is personal. It’s also about ownership and identity. And more than anything, it’s about learning to choose your path—day after day, even when no one’s clapping for you yet.
In Part 1, I shared my journey: how I went from a single mom on government assistance to building an eight-figure life and legacy with my husband. I talked about the grit, the teamwork, and the real sacrifices it took to rebuild our lives—not just financially, but emotionally and mentally, too.
But the story isn’t complete without talking about what came next: the mindset work, the ownership of our journey, and the deeper truths that helped us not only achieve success, but sustain it; and that’s what Part 2 is all about.

Ditching the Scarcity Mindset
One of the biggest shifts I had to make early on was letting go of the scarcity mindset—the one that whispered, “You’ll always struggle,” or “You’re just not good with money.”
The truth is, most of those beliefs weren’t even mine. They were inherited, absorbed from childhood, culture, and experience.
Real wealth began for me when I understood that money is energy, and energy flows where there’s clarity—not chaos. The clearer I got about what I wanted and why I wanted it, the more opportunities seemed to find me. It wasn’t magic. It was alignment.
Acting Like the Future Version of You

Before our financial reality changed, my mindset had to change first.
I started showing up as the woman who was already building wealth—long before the numbers proved it.
This is the Law of Assumption at work: mentally stepping into your next level before it physically exists.
It’s not about pretending. It’s about practicing certainty.
It’s about making decisions today that honor the future you’re building—not just the comfort of the moment you’re in.
Get Smart, Stay Strategic

One of the most important principles that shaped our journey: Don’t just earn—learn. Then multiply.
Every time money came in, we asked: How can this grow?
We reinvested profits. We chose opportunities over optics. We delayed gratification—not because we had to, but because we knew what we were building was bigger than a momentary splurge. The truth is delayed gratification isn’t punishment, it’s power.
Owning Your Financial Education
For a long time, money felt intimidating to me. I didn’t grow up having conversations about investments or estate planning but I made a decision: I wouldn’t outsource 100% of my financial knowledge to anyone—not a partner, not an advisor, not anyone.
Asking “dumb” questions became one of the smartest things I ever did. Every bit of knowledge I gained gave me more confidence—and more control over the life we were creating.
Redefining Financial Freedom
At the end of the day, financial freedom isn’t really about the dollar amount in your bank account. It’s about time, flexibility, and peace.
It’s the ability to say yes when your heart tells you to give, or having the margin to be generous with your time and your resources.
It could also be about supporting causes you care about, showing up for family, creating opportunities for others—all without the heavy weight of financial stress.
Today, one of the biggest joys of our life is being able to sponsor young athletes and invest in future generations. That’s the real flex: choosing how we spend our time, energy, and resources.
If you missed Part 1, I highly encourage you to go back and listen here. It sets the foundation for everything we talked about today.
And if this series sparked something in you—whether it’s a mindset shift, a bold next step, or simply a reminder that you’re not behind—you’re right on time.
Building true financial freedom isn’t a sprint. It’s a series of courageous choices, small daily shifts, and unwavering belief in what’s possible.
Start now. Reinvest in yourself. Own your journey. And remember: you are always just one decision away from a new life.
